Meet Sarah Marie.
Aside from being the owner of Entering Motherhood, Sarah Marie is a mom of two, wife, and birth and postpartum doula. She is certified as a postpartum nutrition professional through Postpartum University, holds a doula certification specifically centered around VBAC preparation through the VBAC Link, loves capturing motherhood moments through photography, and is an active member of Birthworker Academy.
After an unplanned cesarean with her daughter in 2019, she quickly realized the lack of support and misinformation surrounding pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. Later noticing she had postpartum anxiety, postpartum depression, and was needing to work through some past trauma, she sought out any help she could get her hands on and began healing as she navigated motherhood as best she could.
In January of 2021 the Entering Motherhood Podcast was created. With now over 170 episodes, Sarah has enjoyed many opportunities to chat with individuals in the birth and postpartum community and share those conversations so that moms can have the resources they desire so that they can become more empowered along their own motherhood journey.
Over the years, Sarah has been discovering what it means for her to be a mom. When she became pregnant with her son in 2021, her perspective expanded even further. She went through a long process of preparing for a TOLAC (trial of labor after a cesarean), and in January 2022 she successfully welcomed her son into this world, not only as a VABC (vaginal birth after a cesarean) but she was completely unmedicated for the birth. With such different experiences and outcomes from each of her children she can confidently say every pregnancy, birth, and postpartum is so unique and each of us have a story to tell.
Entering Motherhood has expanded into more than an outlet to creatively express her experience. With options such as birth and postpartum doula services, photography, virtual support, the podcast, and so much more, you are able to follow along this journey and hear stories, tips, tricks, and advice from women in every aspect of motherhood to help navigate along your own unique path.
