Episode 130: Informed Decision-Making and Common Reasons for Cesarean Delivery

Hey Mamas!

April is Cesarean Awareness Month and in this episode I discuss the history of cesarean delivery and the reasons why cesareans are performed in the United States. We explored the most common indications for cesarean delivery, including failed labor progression, multiple gestation, maternal hypertension, fetal distress, and other medical reasons. We also covered the risks and benefits of Cesarean delivery, including the potential impact on maternal and neonatal health. Finally, we discussed the importance of informed decision-making and shared decision-making in the cesarean delivery process, and the need for comprehensive and accurate information about the risks and benefits of the procedure.
